Dr. Troy Larson

Meet Dr. Larson! He is the owner of The Veterinary Wellness Center of North Canton, The Cat Clinic and Spa, and The Veterinary Wellness Center of Green. He always had a love for animals and feels that God was continually leading him towards being a veterinarian.

In 1994, with multiple scholarships in hand, he began his journey by attending the University of Akron. After three years, he was accepted directly into The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine, where he graduated in 2001.

After graduation, Dr. Larson spent his first couple of years in a mixed animal practice. He then returned home to Canton, where he worked with a large variety of animals, including exotics. During this time, he pursued continuing education and training in the area of orthopedics. Although he is not a specialist, he discovered that he enjoys the challenge of these more involved procedures and looks to continue expanding his abilities! In 2013, Dr. Larson purchased the Veterinary Wellness Center of North Canton. In 2019, he founded The Veterinary Wellness Center of Green (a dog only clinic) and The Cat Clinic and Spa (a cat only clinic).

Dr. Troy Larson is married to his amazing wife, Rachel, and they are currently raising their four boys: Isaac, Levi, Seth, and Elijah. These boys, along with their Whippet Chase, certainly know how to keep home life entertaining! Dr. Troy and Rachel are very involved in their church and in international mission’s work, traveling to Africa, Asia, and South America for over 25 years sharing the love of Jesus.

Dr. Mark Funk

Dr. Mark Funk is a 2002 graduate of Ross University. He has been practicing small animal medicine for over 13 years and continues to have a passion to provide the best possible care for his patients. He is a very talented, experienced and compassionate veterinarian. His wife, Dianna, is a veterinarian as well, and they enjoy spending time with their 2 boys and four-legged family members.

Meet Hannah! Hannah is one of our Registered Veterinary Technicians. She graduated from Columbus States’ Veterinary Technician Program in 2016. She has been here at the Veterinary Wellness Center since 2017. She has two cats and two parakeets. When she is not working, she likes to hike and read.

Meet Allie! Allie is one of our Veterinary Assistants/Receptionists. She has been in the veterinary field since 2015 and here at the Veterinary Wellness Center since 2016. She provides all of the care and attention to our adoption center kittens. She has five cats of her own at home. Outside of the clinic she enjoys traveling, boating and spending time with family.

Meet Theresa! Theresa is one of our Receptionists. She has been in the veterinary field for over 10 years and here at the Veterinary Wellness Center since 2018. She enjoys boating, gardening, and spending time with her husband and four rescue cats.

Meet De’Drah! De’Drah is one of our Veterinary Technicians. She graduated from Ross College’s Veterinary Technician Program in December 2020 and started here at the Veterinary Wellness Center in the summer of 2020. She has several pets of her own. When she is not working she enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter.

Meet Tyler! Tyler is our Practice manager and a Registered Veterinary Technician. Tyler has been in the veterinary field for over 10 years. After passing his boards, he began working for a local specialty hospital in the Emergency and Radiology departments. In 2020, Tyler decided that he wanted to be a leader in change and pursue a veterinary management position. Tyler wants to make a difference in veterinary medicine.

Tyler grew up local in Canton, OH. He currently has one pet, a cat named Smoke, who he spoils every day. He loves spending time with his family and is an avid football fan. Go Pups!

Meet Marcy! Marcy is one of our Registered Veterinary Technicians. She graduated from the Vet Tech Institute in 2008. She has worked here at the Veterinary Wellness Center since 2014. She lives on a farm with all different types of animals. Outside of working she loves being with her husband and 3 kids hiking, biking, and horseback riding.

Meet Jessica! Jessica is one of our Registered Veterinary Technicians. She graduated from Kent State University Tuscarawas in 2020 with her Associates of Veterinary Technology. She graduated from Youngstown State University in 2016 with her Bachelor of Science in Biology. She has worked in the veterinary field since 2017 and has worked here at the Veterinary Wellness Center since 2021. She has three cats. Outside of work she loves gardening and being outdoors with her husband and 5-month old son.
